High Performance Solid lifter 302
with Matching Numbers, Tunnel-Port
design, intake ports 2.50 inches
tall and 1.75 inches wide. The
canted valve arrangement of the
valves allowed FORD to equip the
heads with 2.19-inch intake and
1.71-inch exhaust valves. Four-bolt
mains on three center journals and a
forged crankshaft. Heavy- duty rods
with 3/8-inch rod bolts. 4.0 inch
Bore and 3.0 inch stroke. Forged
10.5:1 compression pistons with
Cleveland Heads. Fuel distribution
is handled by a solid-lifter cam
featuring 290 degrees duration and a
0.477-inch lift with 1.73:1 ratio
rockers. The heads have 7/8-inch
screw-in studs, 315-pound
competition valve springs and
hardened seats. The heads are topped
by an aluminum high-rise intake
manifold and a large 780 cfm Holley
carb. A special dual-point
distributor delivers Spark.
